The service
What it involves
It isn’t always necessary to carry out a full survey. If a management survey is already in place and only minor works are planned, we can provide a localised survey focusing on the immediate area to be refurbished or demolished.
The process is the same as a full refurbishment / demolition survey, except that it focuses only on the immediate area to be disturbed during the proposed works. A full sampling programme may be carried out to identify the extent of any asbestos-containing materials. Condition doesn’t need to be assessed, other than noting any damage and debris, because one of the purposes of this survey is to provide a basis for tendering the removal of asbestos materials.
Who needs it?
This is for you if you already have a management survey and you’re planning minor works that will disturb part of the building.
What’s included
All of our localised refurbishment / demolition surveys include
- Carrying out an asbestos survey in accordance with HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide
- Reporting on identified asbestos-containing materials, indicating their location, type and content
- Providing appropriate comments and recommendations
- A full survey report, including material location photographs, analysis certification and an asbestos register
