The service
What it involves
A full refurbishment / demolition survey follows the same process as a management survey, except that it may involve destructive inspection, where necessary, to reach all areas and locations as far as practicable.
A full sampling programme may be carried out to identify the extent of any asbestos-containing materials. Condition doesn’t need to be assessed, other than noting any damage and debris, because one of the purposes of this survey is to provide a basis for tendering the removal of asbestos materials.
Who needs it?
You need this survey before refurbishment or demolition work starts. If a management survey is already in place and the works are minor, a localised refurbishment / demolition survey may be enough.
What’s included
All of our refurbishment / demolition surveys include
- Carrying out an asbestos survey in accordance with HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide
- Reporting on identified asbestos-containing materials, indicating their location, type and content
- Providing appropriate comments and recommendations
- A full survey report, including material location photographs, analysis certification and an asbestos register
